NSA Athlete Success at Norfolk Sports Awards

Norfolk Sports Academy athletes won the Male and Female Sportsperson of the Year awards at this years Norfolk Sports Awards, held at Open in Norwich on Tuesday 15th November, with another NSA athlete also nominated for the Female Sportsperson of the Year Award. Jessica-Jane Applegate, Swimming and Sophie Mckinna, Shot Put, were both shortlisted for the Female Sportsperson of the Year, with the Parylimpic Swimmer taking the award home after a remarkable year during which she set 11 British Records, 4 World Records, 2 excellent performances at the European Championships and Rio bringing home 2 Silver medals and 1 Bronze medal from each event. Triathlete Joe Skipper was presented the Male Sportsperson of the Year award for his performances this year, including particularly impressive 2nd place at Ironman New Zealand in March and also breaking the British record for Ironman distance triathlon by over 5 minutes, becoming the first Birtish man to complete an Ironman in under 8 hours!
